Olympic Visitor Service Kiosks
With a quarter of a million people expected to descend on Vancouver, Whistler, Richmond, and the surrounding areas in just a few short days, visitor servicing will be a key component in the success of the Winter Games.
To support a high level of service, Tourism British Columbia, along with its consortium partners (Tourism Vancouver, Tourism Whistler, Tourism Richmond, and the Municipality of West Vancouver), is providing an additional 16 visitor kiosks at key heavy-pedestrian locations throughout Vancouver, Richmond, Whistler, and West Vancouver during the Games.
A pilot kiosk at the Vancouver Art Gallery has been in operation since April of 2008, and the first Games-ready kiosk was deployed to the Lansdowne Canada Line Station in Richmond and opened at the end of November. All kiosks are wheelchair accessible, equipped with computers and internet access, and will be able to assist visitors in way-finding and answering questions related to the 2010 Winter Games.
Visit the new visitor kiosks at the following locations:
Linda Reid, MLA for Richmond East, John Yap, MLA for Richmond Steveston, Rob Howard, MLA for Richmond Centre, Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie, and Tracy Lakeman, CEO of Tourism Richmond, attended the opening of the kiosk at the Lansdowne Canada Line
Station in Richmond.
